FAQs/HOW TO JOIN

Glamour, Petite, High Fashion and Male Model Types.
1. DOES KMF WORK WITH MODELS ONLY? No. We have programs that cover theory and practical knowledge necessary for all talent i.e. Models, Musicians, Dancers, Presenters (TV, Radio, Event MCs, and Hosts, Djs, Actors and Actresses, Acrobats, Hair stylists, Makeup artistes etc. We cover all talent under organized groups based on Age, Gender, Body Size, Interest, Belief (e.g. spiritual inclination) and choice, but we reserve rights to cluster the talent. .

2. HOW DOES KMF WORK? First is to understand the KMF TALENT Management's unique OTM (Online Talent Management) Model. With OTM, we operate 90% online meaning we only have physical encounters on the following occasions.
  • When we bump onto each other (discovery point) - This is the point at which talent is spotted. It could be in the streets, malls, at events, neighborhood or even in a bus.
  • During Industry and Talent Business Briefs - we take the Talent Industry very seriously and like to share basic information about it with talent we discover so as to empower them to make informed decisions. It answers to one of the biggest challenges we have come to know as "industry Players driven by ignorant expectations"
  • Test Shoots - Every potential talent could be misleading due to various reasons. Light, circumstances, dressing, platform etc, could influence someone's appearance. To ascertain potential, a test shoot especially for models is crucial. not too involving but it tells of how much work is needed before one can actually be ready to do a complete portfolio. It is at this point too that physical statistics are confirmed, then those joining can confirm the group they belong to e.g. Petite, Glamour, High Fashion, Plus Factor, Dudes, Juniors, Teens, Seniors, Purity, etc. These are the main structures under which all KMF Talent is organized. Talent in Modeling, Acting, Hospitality, Dancing, Presenting etc, can be tapped from any of these groups. Under OTM, initial contact of our talent with the outside world is via our online avenues such as websites, blogs, social sites, primarily through pictures, videos, then text. All talent therefore requires some profiling. Image is everything so we require all pictures or video footage or voice demo to be professional.
  • At Main Photo/Video Shoots or Audio recording _ For those it is established and confirmed that they have talent we are excited to work with, the next step is to go on and complete their portfolios. More information about portfolios is available below.
  • At Auditions for callbacks - After we collect and organize pictures and talent data, we go out to look for opportunities as we create concepts that would utilize the talent we have. When we get a deal, we go back to our database to find the most appropriate talent to offer whatever service that has been requested for. We select pictures and profile the talent and send our representative to make a presentation. The client chooses the person they prefer and makes limited alternative persons. These are what we refer in our case as "callbacks". We communicate via email, phone call or text messages or even posts through Facebook or Tweeter to the callbacks, give them a full final brief on client expectation for the job opportunity then present them to client for final selection.
  • At work-We conduct mandatory supervision (both scheduled and random) of all our talent, just to ensure that the talent/client and our obligations are met.
3. IS KMF A CASTING AGENCY? On a light presumption, yes it is but in practice it is a Talent Management Consultancy tool. We maintain a mild Commercial Agency outlook, yet fully acknowledge the need function as one. An audition may be prompted by a client need in an case where we do not have sufficient or appropriate talent to supply or offer. It may also occur to increase numbers and variety of available talent. Usually, when the call is made, interested and available talents are asked to send an email to info@kmftalent.com, mentioning the Talent Cluster one belongs to as the subject. As many will be new or entering a new Talent Cluster, we send in reply to the email a KMF TALENT REGISTRATION document, which is a formal business relationship document spelling out rules of engagement, capturing personal information and obtaining talent release, declarations and signature. All must fill it and return it during the audition. It is filled once. On such a day and any other meeting day, if one has good pictures, nice profile, or a professional portfolio, they should present it. If one doesn't have, they will be advised on what to do as mentioned earlier.

10. MUST I HAVE A PORTFOLIO? For those in Presenters and Hospitality Clusters, Actors and Actresses, short motion (Video) clips are required on top of still photographs. Others just need Stills, (but professional), with Voice-over artistes needing voice demos on top of their stills. This is the material we require to market talent, and that is talent's responsibility to acquire or facilitate their production. But we assist.

Individual shoots done once or over a few days cost around KES.10,000 per person. the cost ranges depending on Photographer of choice, Location and Logistics. It is best when our talent admins direct the shoots because that way, we get shots we need, enough to select from and material we are excited to market and associate with. For Businesses shoot, it costs in average KES.15,000 to KES.35,000 depending on the size (branches), variety and nature of products, location(s). It requires a creative and experienced (c) director of photography and a well versed (d) stylist to help you select and coordinate wardrobe with accessories. Light meals and plenty of water or juice and light meals on the day of shoot does it well. Be on location in time. If doing bikini or lingerie shots, remove all unwanted hair, do not wear tight clothes or undergarments

Avoiding very light colors like pinks in all, try to have at least 2 sets of each.
